OUR HISTORY

the foundation

Mohawk Construction and Supply Company, Inc. was officially launched in 1980 as a contracting and supply company focused on metal panels and many other cladding systems. Still, its roots go back to a firm called Viking Erectors. In the late 1960s and 1970s, Viking installed roof decking for building contractors and worked with decking suppliers in New Jersey and other locales. Viking and Mohawk work exclusively to deliver a seamless end-to-end building envelope installation solution.

Transition and Growth

Mohawk/Viking was family-owned and operated by the Kowcheck family for many years until October 2019, when Robert Quarture, a long-time Mohawk employee, purchased the entire company. He remains the sole owner today and has been working on expanding the company while keeping its family-owned values intact. Based in McMurray, Pennsylvania, Mohawk Construction has grown from a regional contractor to become one of the leading building envelope contractors in the United States.

Legacy and Excellence

Our business is grounded in a proud tradition of excellence in ironwork.  Our name pays tribute to the Mohawk tribes that have long been considered the gold standard in iron work and known for their work on high steel construction projects in New York City including the Empire State Building and the George Washington Bridge. They were celebrated for their bravery, superior quality, and skillset.  We strive to honor their name and tradition.
